It happens every year. Cooler temperatures arrive in the late fall and we happily pull out our cozy sweaters, all ready to snuggle up by the fireplace. But if you’re like me, you’re probably thinking, “OK, but wait!? I’m excited to bundle up in fall clothes but not quite ready to let go of my favorite pieces from spring!” SAME GIRL. Is it just me or does it go from hot summer weather to like HOLY CRAP IT’S FREEZING EVERY SINGLE DAY in less than a week?? It happens every year but it still hits me like a ton a bricks and I’m never quite ready (or emotionally prepared) to let go of the warmer temps! (Yes, I realize that’s loosely related to the definition of insanity and I’ve totally come to terms with it) So this fall I decided to get creative with my wardrobe by utilizing my favorite summer pieces mixed with a few new items I picked up this season!
If you know me AT ALL, you know that the Lauren James Pleated Skirt is one of my closet staples! I honestly think I have this in every single fall color! It also comes in bright fun summer colors (which I love too) but one of my favorites is this crimson colored skirt! I got really creative and paired it with almost everything throughout the summer so when the weather got cooler I just wasn’t quite ready to part with my favorite skirt! So I decided to tuck one of my new chunky sweaters into this crimson pleated skirt and BAM, instant outfit magic! This look would also be super cute paired with riding boots or tights and booties when the temperature drops even more!! What are your favorite ways to transition your summer pieces into fall?
