If you know me at all by now you know I LOVE any reason to celebrate!  I love a good theme for any and all parties, and I love celebrating silly days as much as possible!  I mean, we celebrate Taco Tuesday every single week like clock work so this should come as no surprise!  Some of y’all may think “National Days” are silly but you KNOW I’m celebrating them!!  So this year when I saw National Margarita Day on the calendar I though…. YESSS!!!  And what better way to show y’all a sneak peek of one of my FAVORITE NEW LAUREN JAMES DRESSES?? I’m seriously dying over this super soft printed shift dress, y’all!!  It launches next week with a whole new batch of Spring 2 products so I’ll let you know on social media when it’s available!

So back to today…. who doesn’t love a good margarita?? I’ll be honest… I vary rarely order a traditional margarita because I hate those awfully tart mixes that they put into cheap margaritas.  But give me a homemade Marg and YES GIRL, I’M IN!!!  So I’ve chosen my favorite tried and true recipes that I’ve made over the years to share with you today!  One is even non-alcoholic for my underage friends or mama’s to be!!  Do you have a favorite Margarita recipe?? Traditional Margarita

  • salt
  • ice
  • 2 oz. (good quality) silver tequila
  • 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • .5 oz agave syrup optional
  • 1 oz. Triple Sec
  • Garnish with lime slice and orange slice

-Fill glass with ice tequila, citrus juice and Triple Sec. Shake well. Pour into glass with salted rim. Add lime and orange slices to the rim for garnish.

Island Margarita

  • Ice
  • 2 oz. silver tequila
  • .5 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. cream of coconut

-Add all ingredients into a glass.  Shake or stir to combine and enjoy!

Spicy Cilantro Margarita

  • salt
  • ice
  • Juice from 1 Lemon
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • Juice from .5 orange
  • 3 oz. silver tequila
  • 1.5 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 tsp. agave syrup
  • ½ of a sliced jalapeno
  • 2 sprigs of cilantro

-Fill glass with jalapeno and cilantro and muddle. Add ice and all following ingredients and shake. Pour into a glass with salted rim.

Champagne Lemonade Margarita

  • 1 oz silver tequila
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz pink lemonade
  • Brut champagne
  • Ice
  • Lemon wedge

-Add ice, tequila, Triple Sec and lemonade to cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour into an ice filled glass. Top with champagne and garnish with lemon slice!  (YUM)

Strawberry Basil Margarita

  • Ice
  • Sugar (optional, can replace with salt)
  • 4 sliced strawberries
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 2 oz. Silver tequila
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 1 oz Triple Sec
  • Additional strawberries for garnish

-Muddle basil leaves and strawberries in glass. Fill with ice, tequila, lime juice and Triple Sec and shake well.  Pour into a glass with a sugar or salt rim. Garnish with strawberry slices.

Non-Alcoholic Margarita

  • ice
  • salt
  • ½ c. limeade
  • ¼ c. lemonade
  • ¼ c Orange Juice
  • ½ c. lime flavored soda (Dasani or La Crox)
  • Lime wedge

-Salt rim of glass. Fill to the top with ice. Fill with all other liquid ingredients. Garnish with lime wedge.
